Notes

A note is where you write. Notes are plain text, so anything you type stays readable and portable, and you can organize them into folders however you like. Beyond ordinary prose, a note can hold links to other notes, formatting, images, tables, math, charts, and more — plus an optional block of properties at the top that records structured details like tags or a status.

Creating and managing notes

You can work with notes from the left sidebar, the command palette, or the File menu:

Create
File → New Note (N), or "New Note" from the command palette. You'll be asked for a name and can optionally start from a template. Pick a name that isn't already in use.
Rename
Right-click the note in the sidebar and choose Rename. Minerva also updates every link elsewhere that pointed at the old name, so nothing breaks.
Move
Drag the note to a different folder in the sidebar.
Delete
Right-click the note in the sidebar and choose Delete. You'll get a simple confirmation, with a "don't ask again" option. Deleting a note is a normal, everyday action.
The left sidebar with a right-click menu open on a note showing Rename, Move, and Delete, next to the New Note dialog asking for a name and template.
